Lane closures required for Escanaba River bridge work

ESTIMATED COMPLETION DATE: Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009

PROJECT: The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be repairing the substructure piers on the Escanaba River bridge. The project also will include application of the SafeLane anti-icing and anti-skid surface to the bridge deck.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS: This work will require the intermittent closure of the outside lanes of the bridge while the substructure is repaired, and then all travel lanes when the SafeLane is applied. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained at all times. Work will be done Monday through Thursday of each week, with lane closures lifted each Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
