CLOSEST CITY: Villages of Caseville and Port Austin

PROJECT: The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is scheduled to begin two projects on M-25. The first, a $3.7 million resurfacing project, extends 16.5 miles on M-25 from the north village limit of Caseville to the west village limit of Port Austin.
In conjunction with the resurfacing work, a second project, funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), includes the construction of paved non-motorized shoulders and safety upgrades. This $390,000 project extends from Weaver Road to the west village limit of Port Austin.
Both projects are weather-dependent.
TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS: Single-lane and shoulder closures will be in effect for the duration of this project. Traffic will be maintained using flag control. Motorists can expect delays.

CUSTOMER BENEFIT: These projects will increase safety, provide a smoother ride for motorists and add several miles of paved non-motorized shoulders along M-25 in the Thumb area. Saginaw Asphalt Paving Company of Saginaw is the contractor on both projects.
