MDOT invites Jackson residents to West Avenue construction meeting

WHAT: Public information meeting to learn more about construction along M-50/US-127 Business Route (West Avenue) in Jackson, between Wildwood Avenue and Ganson Street. Construction is currently scheduled for 2011.

BACKGROUND: In 2011, MDOT will be investing approximately $4.8 million to reconstruct and widen West Avenue in Jackson. The proposed project includes the replacement of the bridge spanning the Norfolk Southern Railroad, in addition to adding a continuous center turn lane along West Avenue Other improvements include storm sewer replacement, water main upgrades, sanitary sewer improvements, and traffic signal upgrades.

To learn more about this upcoming project, plan to attend the information open house on Aug. 27.
