Contact:  Rob Morosi 248-483-5127
Agency: Transportation

July 25, 2008 -- Ajax Paving crews will begin resurfacing a two-mile stretch of the I-94 Business Loop (Pine Grove/Huron Avenue) in downtown Port Huron beginning Monday, July 28. The resurfacing will take place on the two-mile segment between Quay Street and Hancock Road. Traffic will be maintained with one lane open in each direction. The resurfacing will be conducted in one-mile segments between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., with all lanes to be open during the evening. Through the duration of the project, access to local businesses within the project limits will be maintained.

This $500,000 investment is a Capital Preventive Maintenance project designed to improve a road surface currently in fair condition, and elevate it to good condition. The project is expected to be completed by mid-August 2008.
