December 14, 2004 -- Most seasonal cards are soon discarded following the holidays, but the International Bridge is offering a valuable holiday greeting that can be used throughout the year.

Limited edition, International Quick (IQ) Cards are available at any bridge tollbooth and can be purchased with either American or Canadian currency.

"An IQ Card makes the perfect gift for students, commuters, or anyone who occasionally crosses the International Bridge," said Peter Petainen, International Bridge Administration chief financial officer. "It's conveniently priced, reusable, and will be the appreciated stocking stuffer for anyone who crosses the bridge."

An IQ Card, good for 20 crossings, can be purchased for $21 (CND) or $16 (USD). These cards provide 45 percent savings over the standard passenger vehicle bridge fare and the card remains active as long as it is used at least once every four months.

"You don't even have to go out of your way to purchase a card," Petainen added. "You can pick up special, limited edition holiday cards on your way home today. Ask the toll taker for your IQ Card stocking stuffers while supplies last."

Any number of crossings can be purchased in 20-trip increments. Easy online registration at our secure Web site - www.michigan.gov/iba - offers the added benefit of account protection and additional cards on an account. So be smart this holiday season, give the IQ Card to everyone on your list! IQ FACT: IQ Card sales have increased 24 percent in November 2004 compared to November 2003 ticket book sales.
