|Michigan International Speedway and MDOT update race weekend traffic pattern|
MDOT will suspend work and reopen lanes on major state highways in south-central Michigan, including M-50 between Brooklyn and Napoleon, for the Pure Michigan 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Michigan International Speedway (MIS). The last big race of the season at MIS will be held on Sunday, Aug.18.
Overall, work on most state roads in counties surrounding MIS, which is located near Brooklyn in southern Jackson County, will be suspended from 7 a.m. Thursday, Aug.15, until 7 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20. However, several MDOT projects still will have restrictions in place over race weekend and MDOT urges motorists to drive with caution in work zones.
