FAQ
  Highway Advertising Signs
What is the process for renewing a permit?

Answer:

An annual application for sign permit renewal will be e-mailed to the permit holder. The sign permit renewal application must include the following items in order to be complete:

If renewal fees are not paid on-line at least 30 days prior to the permit(s) expiration, the annual renewal fee for each permit shall increase by an additional $20.00. If the annual renewal fee for any permit is not paid on-line within 60 days after the permit expiration date, the department may cancel the permit.

Note: Permits for religious and service club signs are not charged a renewal fee. The permits are automatically renewed on an annual basis.

Payment is required to be made on-line by e-check or credit card.

As required by section 252.307(2) of the Highway Advertising Act of 1972, as amended, there is a renewal fee of $50.00 for a sign up to and including 300 square feet or $80.00 for a sign greater than 300 square feet.
