The requirements to bid on MDOT projects are outlined on the Bid On Projects Web page.
A contractor who wishes to bid on MDOT construction projects must be construction prequalified. Contact the construction prequalification unit of the Contractors Service Center Web site for more information.
Additional requirements to bid as a prime (general) on MDOT construction projects are to complete two forms to fax or submit online to MDOT. Subcontractors are not required to complete or file these forms with MDOT.
Form 1300EZ, Statement of Current Contracts and Subcontracts is required to bid as a prime (general) contractor. This form provides MDOT with the contractor's outstanding work and must be filed with MDOT in the period specified in the filing schedule identified on this Web page: Letting Dates and 1300EZ Filing Schedule.
The second form required to bid as a prime (general), is the 1381 form known as Request for Eligibility to Bid. The 1381 form provides and informs MDOT the project(s) for which the prime contractor wishes to bid. This form can be completed and submitted online, or printed and faxed to MDOT. The deadline to file Form 1381 is 5:00 p.m. the day preceding the letting date.
Acrobat Adobe version 6.0 or later is needed to electronically submit the two forms online to MDOT.
