| Clean Fuels Formula Program (Section 5308) |

This program provides an opportunity to accelerate the introduction of advanced bus propulsion technologies into the mainstream of the nation's transit fleets. Eligible projects include the purchasing or leasing of clean fuel buses and facilities, and the improvement of existing facilities to accommodate clean fuel buses. Available funds are allocated among the eligible grant applications using a formula based on an area's nonattainment rating, number of buses, and bus passenger-miles.
