PROJECT: The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will resume concrete reconstruction and bridge work on a 6.7-mile stretch of I-75 from Birch Run Creek to Bridgeport, beginning Monday, May 5. Crews completed reconstruction work on southbound I-75 last year. Reconstruction of the northbound lanes will be completed this year, while traffic is maintained on southbound I-75. This phase of the work is expected to end in November. The cost for this year's construction work is approximately $25 million.
TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS: Traffic will be maintained on northbound I-75 using a temporary barrier wall. Lane closures will be in effect, beginning Monday, May 5, with at least two lanes remaining open in each direction on I-75. Once traffic is shifted from north- to southbound lanes and the moveable barrier wall is in place, three northbound lanes will be maintained Wednesday through Saturday, and three southbound lanes will be maintained Saturday through Wednesday. Traffic is scheduled to be shifted Tuesday, May 13.
