Title I, Part C - Migrant
Title I, Part C - Migrant Education Programs
The Migrant Education Program (MEP) is designed to support high-quality, comprehensive educational programs for migratory children to help reduce the educational disruptions and other problems that result from repeated moves. The MEP provides educational and support services to migratory children and youth through both regular school year and summer programs. Children may be eligible if they have made a qualifying move with an agricultural worker or fisher, or moved themselves as the agricultural worker or fisher, within the previous 36 months. Priority is given to children who are not achieving core academic curriculum standards who have made a qualifying move within the last 12 months. The MEP also supports identification, recruitment, and referral activities across the State to locate migratory families and inform them of available services.
