Henry Ford Early College (HFEC) is a 5-year combination of high school and college focused on health careers. The curriculum combines high school classes with college courses enabling the student to graduate with a high school diploma and potentially an Associate of Applied Science degree. The college courses are taken at no additional cost to the student. HFEC is open to Wayne County students with an interest in health careers.
HFEC is a partnership between Dearborn Public Schools, Henry Ford Community College (HFCC), and Henry Ford Health System (HFHS) and utilizes the campuses of both HFCC and HFHS. The Year 1 curriculum consists of all high school classes, with emphasis on math, science, and health careers. During Year 1 and 2, students spend one day per week at HFHS for science labs and career exploration. Students will gradually be introduced to college course, and schedules in Years 4 and 5 will be primarily HFCC coursework and clinical rotations.
HFEC offers the following programs for students: |
