Total Funding Available to Michigan: Estimated at $400,607,836

Date Available: The United States Department of Education has released Fifty percent of the IDEA, Part B ARRA allocations. The remaining recovery funds will be made available by October 1, 2009. The expenditure period for the IDEA recovery funds is February 17, 2009 - September 30, 2011.

Program Information: All IDEA recovery funds must be used consistent with the current IDEA, Part B statutory and regulatory requirements.

Grant Information: Grants will be included and considered part of the fiscal year 2009-2010 IDEA grant. They will be distributed to eligible agencies based on the formula found in IDEA, and per Michigan Revised Administrative Rules for Special Education and the Revised School Code, pending submission of a substantially approvable application in the Michigan Electronic Grants System (MEGS).
