Workers' Compensation

is a benefit that pays for reasonable and necessary medical care for work-related injuries or illness; and compensates* eligible employees for work-related injuries and illnesses that result in wage loss of more than 7 days.

File for Workers' Compensation if...

you are injured or become ill because of your job.

The State of Michigan has the right to choose who will provide your medical treatment for the first 28 days following the injury and is not required to pay for any medical bills from other providers during this time. After 28 days, you have the right to choose any treating provider qualified to treat your injury or illness.
