SERVICES SPECIALIST
Oversee a variety of professional assignments to provide services to socially and economically disadvantaged individuals in programs administered by the Department of Human Services such as protective services, foster care, adoption, juvenile justice, foster home licensing and adult services.
The requirements for the position include possession of a bachelor's or master's degree with a major in one of the following human services areas: social welfare, social work, sociology, psychology, family ecology, consumer/community services, family studies, family and child development, counseling and guidance, criminal justice, gerontology, special education, education of the emotionally disturbed, or education of the gifted.
Training for this position includes 8 weeks of the Child Welfare Institute where the employee is trained in the various laws and regulations that govern the specific program area where they will be assigned. You will also learn the various computer programs used by our agency and shadow other workers during the training.

ASSISTANCE PAYMENTS WORKER
The Assistance Payments Worker has responsibility to determine applicants' eligibility for financial assistance programs and maintain ongoing cases. The work involves frequent contacts with clients and others to obtain and verify information needed to approve services under various financial assistance programs, Food Assistance, Medical Assistance and other programs administered by our department.
Requirements for the position are completion of two years of college (60 semester or 90 term credit hours). Applicants must also provide an original official set of their college transcripts.
