Jay Kommareddi, Grand Blanc

Jayashree Kommareddi manages an internal medicine practice in the city of Flint. She is a long time community activist and organizer with a focus on charitable and political activities. Her community activities have included leadership positions in the Genesee County Medical Society Alliance, the Michigan State Medical Society Alliance & the Genesee County Free Medical Clinic. Jayashree is a recipient of the Michigan State Medical Society Award for Community Service. She currently serves on many Boards: the Michigan Indo-American Democratic Caucus, the U of M Flint-American Democracy Project, and the Mott Children's Health Center of Flint.

She was a member and past vice-chair of the Governor's Advisory Council on Asian Pacific American Affairs, and is currently serving as a member of the State Advisory Committee to the US Commission on Civil Rights

Jayashree received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology & English from Delhi University and a Masters Degree in Sociology from the Delhi School of Economics. She is married to Prasad Kommareddi, MD and has two daughters Madhuri and Mallika.
