Civil Rights Commission Elects Officers, Adopts 2008 Schedule

Today at its general meeting in Lansing, the Michigan Civil Rights Commission elected new officers and adopted a schedule for meetings in 2008.  Commissioner Kelvin W. Scott was elected to serve as Chair of the Commission.  Commissioner Matthew Wesaw was elected to serve as Vice-Chair of the Commission.  Commissioner Karen Henry-Stokes was elected to serve as Secretary of the Commission. Commissioner J. Michael Zelley was elected to serve as Treasurer of the Commission.  All offices are one year terms effective immediately following the vote.

Also, below is the Commission meeting schedule adopted for calendar year 2008.  More specific information, including time and topics of discussion, will be released at a later date.

  • March 31st - Grand Rapids
  • May 19th - Saginaw
  • July 21st - Benton Harbor
  • October 27th - Flint
  • December 15th - Ypsilanti
