Michigan Civil Rights Commission to hold emergency meeting in Grand Rapids

The Michigan Civil Rights Commission has scheduled an emergency meeting for Thursday Jan. 15, 2009 at 11:00 AM, at the State of Michigan Building, Erie Room, 350 Ottawa N.W. Grand Rapids, MI. The meeting is being held to establish the criteria and procedure to be used in the selection process for the open position of director for the Michigan Department of Civil Rights. 

Last month Governor Jennifer M. Granholm announced the judicial appointment of the department's current Director, Linda V. Parker, to the 3rd Circuit Court in Wayne County as a third circuit court judge in absence of Cynthia Stephens. No other business is scheduled for this meeting.
