HDRMHS Minority Health Month

Minority Health Month

Minority Health Month Calendar for 2013

In recognition of Minority Health Month, the Health Disparities Reduction and Minority Health Section (HDRMHS) is conducting a series of statewide information sessions on the Affordable Care Act. These activities will be conducted throughout the month of April.

In an effort to assure that communities are fully informed on the ACA, HDRMHS is collaborating with community- and faith-based organizations, minority serving agencies, Tribal agencies, health care organizations, and others throughout the state to host informational sessions for their respective communities.

The sessions will provide community members with up-to-date information on Michigan policy related to Medicaid expansion and status of the insurance exchange and how the ACA will impact racial and ethnic populations in Michigan as well as any pertinent changes from the recent Supreme Court decisions.

Please check out the calendar and join us for one or more of the Minority Health Month events featured this month.

In April 2012 there was a mini grant program celebrating National Minority Health and Health Disparities Month focusing on raising awareness of minority health issues.
