| Potassium Iodide, KI |
Beginning October 1, 2009, the State of Michigan will be making a free supply of potassium iodide, or KI, available to people living or working within 10 miles of a nuclear power plant in Michigan. You should not take KI unless a "General Emergency" (the most serious type of emergency) is declared by the plant AND emergency officials recommend that you take it.
