Rape Prevention and Education
With an overall goal to reduce the incidence of sexual violence in the Michigan, the Rape Prevention and Education Program comprises three components:
Sexual Violence Prevention (SVP) Grants Program
The SVP Program funds 9 local agencies to conduct community-based efforts to prevent first-time sexual violence perpetration and or victimization. SVP Grantees submit annual program plans, progress and year-end reports as well as evaluation reports that detail process and outcome data.
Statewide Strategic Planning Project
This project, housed in the Michigan Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence (MCADSV), brings together local and state-level stakeholders to develop, implement and evaluate a state-wide sexual and intimate partner violence prevention plan. The strategic plan will provide a strategic road map to guide state and local efforts in preventing first-time perpetration and or victimization. Project activities are evaluated through participant surveys, focus groups and other appropriate evaluation tools.
Rape Prevention and Services (RPS) Grants Program
The RPS Program supports 29 local rape crisis centers to provide hotlines, professional training, and community outreach. Its primary goal is to influence social norms in local communities. The RPS Program is housed in the Michigan Department of Human Services (MDHS) and is under the leadership of the Michigan Domestic Violence Prevention and Treatment Board (MDVPTB).
The total amount of Michigan's RPE program is $1,375,166 and is 100% federally funded through CoA # VF1/CE001110 from the Centers for Disease Control, Division of Violence Prevention.

The MDVPTB was established within the Michigan Family Independence Agency (now known as the Department of Human Services) in 1978 by state legislation. The Board promotes the empowerment of survivors and seek social change to redress the existing power imbalance within violent relationships.

The Resource Center is a unique collection of books, videos, journals and other media promotes awareness and increases accessibility of educational information and resources for the state of Michigan. These materials are useful for training, counseling, education, research, nonprofit business management, program development and activism.

Michigan Sex Offender Registry
Information available on the Michigan State Police Public Sex Offender Registry (PSOR) includes an offender's name, address, offense information, and a photograph. National Sexual Violence Resource Center
The NSVRC is a comprehensive collection and distribution center for information, statistics, and resources related to sexual violence. It serves as a resource for state, territory, and tribal anti-sexual assault coalitions, rape crisis centers, allied organizations, community projects, policy-makers, government entities, media, educators, health care providers and others working to address and eliminate sexual assault.

The goal of VAWnet is to harness and use electronic communication technology as a resource for those working to end violence against women. Family Violence Prevention Fund
For more than two decades, the Family Violence Prevention Fund (FVPF) has worked to end violence against women and children around the world. FVPF was instrumental in developing the landmark Violence Against Women Act passed by Congress in 1994, and has continued to break new ground by reaching new audiences including men and youth. FVPF promotes leadership within communities to ensure that violence prevention efforts become self-sustaining, and transforms the way health care providers, police, judges, employers and others address violence.

US Department of Justice, Office for Victims of Crime
The Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) was established by the 1984 Victims of Crime Act. OVC oversees diverse programs that benefit crime victims and provides substantial funding to state victim assistance and compensation programs. The office supports training to educate criminal justice and allied professionals about the rights and needs of crime victims. OVC also sponsors an annual event in April to commemorate National Crime Victims Rights Week.
