You need to earn a total of 45 continuing education contact hours over the course of your 3-year cycle. There is no specific amount required per year -- you can earn them all in one year, or spread them out evenly over the licensure cycle but the credits earned must fall within the dates of your licensure cycle.

Of the 45 hours required, 5 hours need to be earned in ethics, and 1 hour needs to be in pain and pain symptom management. Continuing education contact hours in pain and pain symptom management may include, but are not limited to, courses in behavior management, psychology of pain, behavior modification, and stress management.
