The Board of Social Work has developed a plan to facilitate the approval of sponsors for social work continuing education. Their plan is to authorize a group termed a social work collaborative to review and approve continuing education programs. The social work collaborative will be a collection of agencies, schools and individuals representing various aspects of social work. A representative of the Board will also participate in the group. Individual program sponsors would submit proposed programs to the collaborative for review. The collaborative would review the proposed offerings and either grant approval, reject the program or seek additional information in order to make a decision.
The application for becoming a collaborative must be submitted to the Department in order to be able to approve programs. Also, you may refer to the ACE Guide for further information.
