Part III Examination
The National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners Part III examination is required as part of the licensure process for Michigan podiatrists. This exam is administered using computer-based testing. The exam is administered at various sites in each state.
An applicant must register to take the Part III Examination with the testing company and must also apply for licensure and approval to sit for the test with the Bureau of Health Professions. To request an application to be licensed in Michigan, email us at bhpinfo@michigan.gov or call (517) 335-0918. The application package will contain the necessary forms to apply for a license. The Michigan licensure application may also be downloaded from this website.

In order to be eligible for the examination, the license application, license fee and required documentation must be received in the Application Section of the Bureau of Health Professions by the deadline indicated below. Please mail to:

Once eligibility has been determined, the testing company will send you an authorization to test (ATT) and instructions on how to schedule an appointment to take the examination.
Examination Results
Pass - A license will be issued approximately 4 weeks from the examination date.
Fail - Results will be mailed approximately 4 weeks from the examination date.
