Effective January 2001, applicants must pass both the North American Pharmacist Licensing Examination (NAPLEX) and the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (MPJE). Both examinations are computer-based tests given at Pearson Vue nationwide. An applicant must register to take the NAPLEX and/or the MPJE with the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP). They must apply for licensure and approval to take the examinations with the Bureau of Health Professions. An application may be downloaded from www.michigan.gov/healthlicense, requested by email at bhpinfo@michigan.gov or by leaving a voice mail message at (517) 335-0918. The application package will have the forms necessary to apply for a license as well as the registration forms for the NAPLEX and the MPJE.
Once an applicant has been deemed eligible for the tests by the Bureau of Health Professions, NABP will be notified. An Authorization to Test (ATT) from Pearson Vue will be sent to the applicant. The ATT will contain instructions on scheduling an appointment to take the test. Scheduling may also occur at www.pearsonvue.com/nabp or through the customer service line at 1-888-709-2679.
Test results will be sent to the applicants approximately four weeks after the test date.
Additional information regarding the NAPLEX and/or the MPJE can be found at www.nabp.net.
