How MCTI Can Benefit Your Business

The Michigan Career and Technical Institute (MCTI) works in partnership with business and industry to design innovative and flexible employment and training programs tailored to your needs. We can assist you in:

Hiring New Employees

Our qualified, pre-screened applicants are carefully matched to your job requirements. At your request, we will conduct job analyses to help determine the skills needed for a particular job---then we will help recruit appropriate candidates. We also provide routine follow-up services to ensure employer satisfaction.

We can also design internships, job tryouts, and on-the-job training programs to ensure that job candidates meet the needs of your business. You may be eligible for tax credits and funds to offset hiring and training costs, so we'll tell you about these, too.

MCTI graduates are specialists in the following areas:

  • Automotive Technology
  • Cabinetmaking
  • Computer Programming
  • Culinary Arts
  • Custodial
  • Drafting
  • Electronics
  • Grounds Maintenance/Landscaping
  • Machine Technology
  • Office Automation
  • Personal Computer Specialist
  • Printing

If job site accommodations are needed for new or existing employees, the Michigan Accommodation Center at MCTI is available to assist in identifying and developing reasonable accommodations in accordance with ADA regulations.

Training Your Current Workforce

Customized Courses
. If your current employees require specialized training, we can design a package to meet your training needs. We offer:

  • Custom, job-specific modules
  • On-site or off-site classes, in a location most convenient to you and your employees
  • Fully-equipped computer classrooms and specialized industrial equipment labs on the MCTI campus
  • MCTI instructors who are highly motivated and experienced. They understand the unique needs of adult learners and present material in ways that will help your employees learn quickly and effectively.

Basic Skills Training

You require your employees to have solid foundation skills in reading, writing, speaking, and math. You also need your employees to demonstrate the ability to learn, make decisions, solve problems, serve customers, evaluate data, and use technology. Rapidly advancing technology and changing job responsibilities have transformed the workplace and may have created "skill gaps" within your organization.

If your employees' skills don't match the skills your changing organization needs, contact the MCTI Workplace Learning Center. We specialize in training workers in skills such as:

  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Speaking
  • Math
  • Computer skills
  • Critical thinking
  • Problem solving
