Updated GEDTS Policies and Forms:
Over the past year the GED Testing Service® (GEDTS) has carefully considered issues of examinee privacy, as well as examinee rights and responsibilities and has issued a new privacy policy and agreement form available for download in English, French, and Spanish below.

Full Versions (intended for examiners and staff)

Shortened Versions (intended for test-takers)

Effective January 1, 2009 , GEDTS is requiring testing center staff to get the examinee to confirm on the demographic form that he or she has read and agrees to comply with the policies. Jurisdictions that use the GEDTS demographic forms will be required to use only the new forms beginning January 1, 2009. The procedure for replacing demographic forms is available for download below, along with a demo version of the form and a Q&A sheet.

General Education Development (GED) Testing Information:

Advisory Against Misleading GED Claims

Please be advised that the Michigan GED High School Equivalency Certificate can be neither earned nor obtained via the Internet or through correspondence programs.  The Tests of General Educational Development (GED Tests)-developed by the General Educational Development Testing Service of the American Council on Education (GED Testing Service) -require extensive preparation and the demonstration of a high level of high school knowledge and academic skills. The GED Tests are administered in Michigan only at Official GED Testing Centers  under the direction of the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth.  Any other high school equivalency certificates not issued by the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth or another jurisdictional GED testing authority  may be of dubious value and may not be accepted by employers, colleges and universities, or the military.
