A new online resource and forms directory is now available from the State of Michigan to assist those starting businesses. Named Online Business Startup Services, the new service also features a business startup "wizard" interactive tool that will guide users through the registration forms needed to start their businesses.
The Web address for the new site is
http://www.michigan.gov/businessstartup.
The new "wizard" will collect necessary information from business customers and populate the required forms to be submitted to the Department of Treasury, Department of Labor & Economic Growth, and the Unemployment Insurance Agency. Required forms include Entity Filing, Tax Registration, Tobacco Tax Registration, Motor Fuel Tax Registration, Payroll Service Provider Power of Attorney, Power of Attorney, and EFT Authorization.
The State intends to continually improve the "wizard" and will offer additional functionality in the future. Online Business Startup Services does not include all areas of interaction with State agencies for a business, but does include most areas those starting a small business will need to consider.
