Chair Designee Robert Craig called the meeting to order at 2:15 p.m. A quorum was present.
Adoption of Agenda
KAREL BUSH REVIEWED THE AGENDA. RON PERRY MOVED THAT THE COUNCIL ADOPT THE AGENDA. AMANDA DANIELSON SECONDED. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
McIntosh Apple Orchards and Winery
Karel Bush stated that she received an application from McIntosh Apple Orchards and Winery on February 16, 2007, to be added to the Council's list of Michigan wine producers. Karel confirmed that the winery has been licensed by the Michigan Liquor Control Commission as a small winemaker, and by the Michigan Department of Agriculture for food preparation. David Creighton commented that the winery will produce hard cider and fruit wines, and that they plan to produce grape wines beginning fall 2007. Karel and David recommended to the Council that McIntosh Apple Orchards and Winery be approved. At the request of Chair Craig, Karel reviewed the eligibility requirements.
MOTION: RON PERRY MOVED THAT THE COUNCIL ACCEPT THE RECOMMENDATION AND APPROVE McINTOSH APPLE ORCHARDS AND WINERY AS A "MICHIGAN WINE PRODUCER" FOR PROMOTIONAL PURPOSES OF THE COUNCIL. LIZ BERGER SECONDED. A ROLL CALL VOTE WAS TAKEN, AND THE MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
