An official interstate
health certificate or official certificate of veterinary inspection shall
accompany all goats imported into Michigan, except goats consigned directly
to slaughter.
Note: All goats imported into Michigan must be officially individually identified
by an ear tag, tattoo, or registration number (breed registry). The individual
identification must be recorded on the health certificate.
All goats over six months of age, except
wethers, must have received an official negative
test for brucellosis within 30 days prior to importation, or originate directly
from a brucellosis certified-free goat herd.
All goats must meet
one of the following:
Originate directly
from an accredited bovine TB-free state or zone.
Originate directly
from an accredited bovine TB-free herd.
Originate from a
herd that has had a negative whole herd test within the preceding 12 months
and individual goat(s) have a negative TB test within
60 days before entry.
