Human Resources Division provides support to department personnel for various program areas. The Division's goals include developing a team atmosphere, insuring equal opportunity in recruitment, selection and promotion of a qualified diverse work force and to provide information, education and training to all Department of Agriculture staff.

Programs

Personnel Administration - HRD assists and advises MDA managment in personnel administration, hiring, position classification and employment opportunity and organizational development.

Collective Bargaining - HRD negotiates and administers collective bargaining agreements for the five unions that represent MDA employees.

Training Programs - HRD develops and implements all training programs for MDA staff.

Personnel Policies and Procedures - The division develops guidelines for the work place, and makes them available to all employees.

Employment Issues - Human Resources staff represent MDA in administrative processes and legal proceedings concerning grievances, civil rights complaints and other issues.

Safety Issues - Human Resources staff is involved in both in office and and field staff safety issues.
