Huron Pines AmeriCorpsHuron Pines supports 8 full time and 8 half time members. The Huron Pines AmeriCorps program focuses on environmental stewardship, a key focus area of Congress for national service programs. This program continues to be one of the few environmentally-focused programs in Michigan and with a five year history of meeting natural resource conservation goals, is an essential program for strengthening rural Northeast Michigan and our Great Lakes. Huron Pines AmeriCorps members directly improve at-risk ecosystems. Through habitat restoration, environmental stewardship and developing conservation services, Huron Pines AmeriCorps members meet the evolving conservation needs of Northeast Michigan.Counties served: Alpena, Alcona, Cheboygan, Crawford, Iosco, Montmorency, Ogemaw, Oscoda, Otsego, Presque Isle and Roscommon.
