"Students in Service to America" Guidebook

President George W. Bush is calling upon all Americans to commit at least 4,000 hours - the equivalent of two years over the course of their lives - to the service of others. "Students in Service to America" is a guidebook for engaging America's students in a lifelong habit of service. This collaboration between the Department of Education , USA Freedom Corps , the Points of Light Foundation , and the Corporation for National and Community Service describes how educators can help enlist youth in school-based service and service-learning. More than 130,000 public and private elementary and secondary schools, homeschools, and afterschool programs will receive the guidebook, along with a CD-ROM, posters, and other resources.
