Volunteer in Your Community!

Volunteers are an important part of communities all across Michigan.  More and more, people are using their spare time to help others in need.  Volunteering is a great way to meet people, develop your skills, and have fun while supporting the causes that are important to you.

If you are interested in volunteering, but don't know where to go, or who to talk to about it, chances are there is an area Volunteer Center that serves your community.  Volunteer Centers can match your interests, skills, and schedule to an organization or project that is counting on people like you to help them make a positive impact in your community.  Visit the  Volunteer Centers of Michigan  website to find the Volunteer Center nearest you or call  1-800-VOLUNTEER  to find volunteer opportunities by zip code and be on your way to a making a difference in someone's life.

The Michigan Community Service Commission (MCSC) also supports programs and activities to help individuals get involved in their local communities.  Find out how you can get involved in Adopt A Part of Michigan .  You can also find out how to recognize outstanding volunteers in your community through the Governor's Service Awards .
