The second-annual National AmeriCorps Week will join tens of thousands of AmeriCorps members, alums, staff, partners, and friends to celebrate service. All across Michigan, AmeriCorps Week activities and events will showcase the power of AmeriCorps members and alumni and educate people about the role, impact, and importance of AmeriCorps in our communities.
Governor Jennifer M. Granholm will officially declare the week of May 11, 2008 as Michigan's AmeriCorps Week. All across Michigan, AmeriCorps Week activities and events will showcase the power of AmeriCorps members and alumni and educate people about the role, impact, and importance of AmeriCorps in our communities. AmeriCorps Week events will take place in various locations throughout the state and will feature a variety of service opportunities. The projects will engage Michigan's AmeriCorps*State and National Direct members, VISTA, Senior Corps, Learn and Serve, AmeriCorps Alums, and other community partners.
