LANSING, June 17, 2008 - The Michigan Lottery's
Millionaire Raffle has sold out and thousands of prizes will be awarded in a
June 23 drawing.
The June 23 drawing will be Millionaire Raffle
Drawing #8 and results will be available on the Lottery's Web site at
www.michigan.gov/lottery that
afternoon. A new feature which will allow players to enter their number on the
site and receive a response indicating whether they have a winning ticket has
been added to the Web site.
Players will also be able to check their
Millionaire Raffle numbers at any Michigan Lottery retailer or Lottery regional
office. Numbers on winning tickets must be in the exact order in which they are
drawn.
The Millionaire Raffle will award 6,018 prizes:
six prizes of $1 million, 12 prizes of $100,000, 2,000 prizes of $500, and 4,000
prizes of $100.
The $1 million prize winning numbers will be
announced during the Lottery's regular televised evening drawing on June 23.
Winners of the $1 million and $100,000 prizes
will need to schedule an appointment with the Michigan Lottery Public Relations
Division at 517-373-1237 in order to claim their prizes. Winners of $500 and
$100 prizes can claim their prize at any Michigan Lottery retailer.
Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery
tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state
School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year
2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in
1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in
Michigan.
