LANSING, June 25, 2008 - Millions of dollars was collected by seven lucky Michigan Lottery Millionaire Raffle winners at Lottery headquarters in Lansing.

Two anonymous players are $1 million richer with tickets purchased at Party World in Comstock Park and Sharon's Short Stop in Clinton Township.

It was beginners luck for Paula Hickerson of Redford. She walked away with $100,000 from a Raffle ticket purchased at Smoker's Emporium in Livonia. Hickerson and her husband, Thomas, are first time Raffle players who were excited with their win. They plan to pay off debts with the prize money.

A Lennon player, who chose to remain anonymous, won $100,000 on a ticket purchased at Speedway #8797 in Lennon. The winner, an "off and on Lottery player," plans to share the prize money with family.

An anonymous player from Walker is $100,000 wealthier after redeeming her Raffle ticket she purchased at Speedway #3574 in Grand Rapids. The winner didn't believe her good fortune when she saw her number on the Lottery's Web site. She plans to use the prize money to travel and purchase a new car for her husband.

An anonymous Jackson player claimed a $100,000 prize on a ticket purchased at Kelly's Express Mart in Jackson. The regular Lottery player is a single parent raising two children and was excited with her win.

An anonymous player claimed a $100,000 prize on a ticket purchased at CVS/Pharmacy 08146 in Warren.

The Millionaire Raffle, drawn on June 23, has six prizes of $1 million; 12 prizes of $100,000; 2,000 prizes of $500; and 4,000 prizes of $100!

Winning numbers from Monday's drawing are available on the Lottery's Web site at www.michigan.gov/lottery and at Lottery regional offices. Retailers can also validate Raffle tickets.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
