LANSING, May 14, 2008 - Jessica Brooks is a very
lucky 20-year-old! She won a $10,008 prize from the Lottery's Club
Keno game!
Brooks bet $2 a draw and matched nine of 10 once
and five of 10 two separate times to win the prize.
After checking her numbers with the retailer,
Brooks said she was "shocked" by her win. She plans to use the prize money for
bills and savings. She enjoys fishing, bowling and art in her free time.
The lucky winning own-pick ticket was purchased
at New Martini's Bar & Grill, 15217 Apollo Circle, in Holly.
Club Keno offers 37 different ways to play
and win. Players can wager $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10 or $20 per drawing and
tickets can be purchased for up to 20 drawings at a time. Players win Club Keno
by matching some or all of the numbers they have selected to the numbers drawn.
The more numbers matched, the more the player wins. The Kicker option allows
players to multiply their winnings by up to 10 times!
Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery
tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state
School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year
2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in
1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in
Michigan.
