Lottery Winner Photo - Friends For Life Club - $100,000 Club Keno

LANSING, March 22, 2005 – The Friends for Life Lottery club were in shock when they discovered the Club Keno ticket they thought was worth $10,000 was actually worth $100,000!

The club members who are from Mancelona and Rapid City were screaming when Lottery officials told them the good news.

The two men, who have been friends “forever” said they plan to use the money to retire a year early and maybe buy a Harley. They have a system for picking winning numbers, they just shout out the first numbers that come to mind.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Press Box Restaurant and Lounge, 210 E. Calhoun St., in Mancelona.

Club Keno is a fun, fast, continuous action game with drawings every five minutes. Players can wager $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10 or $20 per drawing and tickets can be purchased for up to 20 drawings at a time. Players win Club Keno by matching some or all of the numbers they have selected to the numbers drawn. The more the numbers matched, the more the player wins. Club Keno drawings take place seven days a week, every five minutes, from 6:05 a.m. to 1:45 a.m. Club Keno celebrated its 1 year anniversary during the month of October.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2004, the contribution was $644.8 million.
