LANSING, July 11, 2008 - A lucky Detroit
woman is $259,213 richer after matching all five numbers in the June 18
Fantasy 5 drawing!
The anonymous woman, who is a regular Lottery
player, was excited with her win. She picked her own numbers "at random" and
plans to use the prize money on family and home repairs.
The lucky ticket was purchased at Metro Food
Center, 6461 W. Warren Ave., in Detroit.
Fantasy 5 drawings are conducted seven
days a week. Jackpots start at $100,000 and grow by approximately $5,000 daily.
Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery
tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state
School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year
2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in
1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in
Michigan.
