LANSING, April 18, 2008 - A 30-year-old Taylor
man claimed his fortune from the April 13 Fantasy 5 drawing. The
anonymous man matched all five numbers, plus a few other times on the same
ticket, to win a $100,013 prize.
The regular Fantasy 5 player learned of his good
fortune from the Lottery's web site. He found out of his win only a few hours
prior to redeeming his ticket at Lottery Central in Lansing. He told Lottery
officials that he "shook for three hours" before turning the ticket in!
The lucky man picked his own numbers based on
numbers from an easy pick ticket that he purchased three months prior to
winning. He has no immediate plans for his prize money.
The lucky winning ticket was purchased at
7-Eleven 33069, 14850 Telegraph Rd., in Taylor.
Fantasy 5 drawings are conducted seven
days a week. Jackpots start at $100,000 and grow by approximately $5,000 daily.
Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery
tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state
School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year
2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in
1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in
Michigan.
