Library of Michigan Materials

The Library of Michigan has an extensive collection of materials for research. There are over 5.6 million items that cover federal and state documents, public policy and government, Michigan and genealogy and include books, journals, microfilm and electronic materials.

All state employees may borrow materials. Materials may be held for pick up at the circulation desk or sent through I.D. mail. Articles and brief materials may be emailed or faxed.

Library Catalog (ANSWER)
Search the Library of Michigan catalog to see what we own. Remember MeL, the Michigan e-Library, for materials available electronically. Search the MeL databases for magazine, journal and newspaper articles, and access e-books through the eBooks database.

State government employees may request work-related materials the Library of Michigan does not own through interlibrary loan.

State employees who do not already have a Library of Michigan library card may apply for one online.
