Comments: Space allows for four genealogists at one time. Children 12 years of age and older are permitted for school assignments. Due to limited space, we recommend reservations to guarantee access to records.

Births: 1867 to present. Birth records are restricted in accordance with MCL 333.2882.

Marriages: 1855 to present

Other: Criminal and Civil Court record searches are $1.00 per name per year. Example: A ten-year search of criminal records for one person is $10.00.

Anne Norlander, Calhoun County Clerk-Register, and Toni Fritz, the Clerk-Register's Administrative Assistant, conducted a survey of offices in 1993 in order to make this information available to the public. Calhoun County printed the 1994 Michigan County Clerks Genealogy Directory, prepared as a product of this inventory. The Archives of Michigan revised this on-line edition of the directory in 2001.
