Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Wage and Hour Program to provide public service through the fair, effective, and efficient administration of laws which protect the wages and fringe benefits of Michigan's workers.
What we do . . .
The administration and enforcement of wage protection laws in Michigan (the Payment of Wages and Fringe Benefits Act, the Minimum Wage Act, and the Prevailing Wages on State Projects Act) is the role of the Wage and Hour Program.
The division investigates complaints alleging non-payment of wages and fringe benefits, state minimum wage, overtime, equal pay, and prevailing wage disputes. The Wage and Hour Program also educates employers and employees in the areas covered by these labor standards.
