The Michigan Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), 1976 PA 442, allows the public access to non-exempt records by submitting a written request. You will generally be charged for any records copied and mailed to you. The copy charge is currently $0.25 per page unless special reproduction or duplication of a record is necessary. Postage or mailing charges, or special handling, may be on an actual cost basis. You will be notified if the estimated cost for a record exceeds $50 and a deposit in one-half of the total estimated cost must be submitted before records are copied/duplicated and mailed.
