July 29, 2004The Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Growth (DLEG) announced today the distribution of $2,482,400 in fiscal year 2004 Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) funding, including $2,455,400 in new funding recently allocated to Michigan by the U.S. Department of Labor and $27,000 of existing funding that was recaptured and is being redistributed.
Governor Jennifer Granholm said, "This funding is vital to ensure that trade-impacted workers throughout Michigan receive the training they need in order to quickly re-enter the workforce. With the right training there is no limit to what Michigan workers can do."
This funding is made available through the federal Trade Adjustment Assistance program and is being distributed by the Department of Labor & Economic Growth to the following Michigan Works! Agencies:
