JULY 30, 2003 - The Michigan Department of Consumer & Industry Services (CIS) has summarily suspended the nursing license of Bryan W. Kerridge, R.N., due to his misdemeanor conviction involving the use of a controlled substance.
On October 17, 2002, in the 60th Judicial District Court, Muskegon, Michigan, Kerridge pled guilty to Operating Under the Influence of Drugs 1st/Operating Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance 1st. Kerridge was ordered to pay fines and costs totaling $740.00 and was placed on probation for one year.
On July 8, 2003, CIS summarily suspended Kerridge's license pursuant to the Public Health Code, which provides for the mandatory summary suspension of a health professional upon the conviction of a misdemeanor involving the delivery, possession or use of a controlled substance. An administrative hearing will be scheduled to address the status of Kerridge's nursing license.
