ADVISORY - United Airlines' Detroit Customer Contact Center to Receive Star Award for Workplace Safety and Health Excellence

October 7, 2011 - United Airlines' Detroit Customer Contact Center (DTWCC)
will receive the Star Award, the state's highest workplace safety and health award, from the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA), at a special ceremony and luncheon Tuesday, October 11
, 2011, at 11:30 a.m., 17501 Michigan Ave., in Dearborn.
The Michigan Voluntary Protection Programs (MVPP) Star Award for outstanding safety and health programs is awarded by MIOSHA, and recognizes worksites that provide exemplary safety and health protection for their workers. The MIOSHA program is part of the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA).
MIOSHA Director Doug Kalinowski will present the MVPP Star Award to
Beverly Barfield, Director Customer Contact Centers and the DTWCC Safety and Health Committee. United Airlines corporate officials, elected officials, employees and guests will attend the presentation and luncheon.
