NEWS ADVISORY - Michigan's Insurance Advocate & Workers' Comp Agency Director to Speak at Livonia Public Library Next WeekFEBRUARY 24, 2010 -Two Michigan Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth leaders will be guest speakers next week as part of the "Money Matters" speaker series at the Livonia Public Library. Consumers and media representatives are invited to attend this free series which features Michigan's Insurance Advocate Melvin "Butch" Hollowell and Michigan Workers' Compensation Agency Director Jack A. Nolish. Monday, March 1st at 7 p.m. - Melvin "Butch Hollowell, Michigan's Insurance Advocate Hollowell will give an update on insurance relates issues including the latest update on Fair and Affordable Insurance Reform (FAIR) legislative bills to make automotive insurance more affordable and companies more accountable. He is also available to answer consumer questions. As Michigan's Automobile and Home Insurance Consumer Advocate, Hollowell works to educate consumers on how to protect themselves against predatory or illegal insurance practices and coordinate advocacy and educational efforts with non-governmental consumer advocacy entities and other organizations. Tuesday, March 2nd at 7 p.m. - Jack A. Nolish, Director, Michigan Workers' Compensation Agency Jack Nolish has lectured a number of professional groups on legal matters regarding Workers' Compensation and Social Security and speaks to many legal, labor, and disability support organizations. He brings more than 30 years of professional experience to his position as the director of Workers' Compensation Agency where he was appointed by Governor Jennifer M. Granholm.
