DECEMBER 10, 2009 - The state agency which oversees Michigan's wage and hour and youth employment laws is moving its Lansing administrative staff to a new headquarters location in state government's Secondary Complex, effective Monday, December 14.
The Wage & Hour Division, part of the Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth, is relocating from its offices at 6546 Mercantile Way in Lansing to the General Office Building in Dimondale. The move is also making it necessary to change the Division's main telephone and fax numbers. The new address and telephone numbers are:

Office hours: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., M-F

The Division's website remains unchanged at www.michigan.gov/wagehour. The move will not affect the division's office in Livonia (33523 West Eight Mile Rd; 313.456.4906) or the investigator based in the Upper Peninsula (906.482.3602)
The Wage & Hour Division administers Michigan laws that protect the wages and fringe benefits of workers and provide for the safe and legal employment of minors. It enforces Michigan's minimum wage law and investigates complaints alleging non-payment of wages, fringe benefits and overtime. The division also enforces prevailing wage requirements, monitors youth employment standards and educates employers and workers about these labor standards.
"The new office is barrier free, offers free parking and is open to walk-in traffic from workers and employers who need help with or have questions about Michigan's labor standards," Jack Finn, Wage & Hour administrator, said. "The move also consolidates our office space with the Workers' Compensation Agency, making it easier for citizens to access both agencies."
